Dalby Kart Track Kick Off 2018

Greetings All,

It was a big weekend of cleanup and discussion at the Dalby Kart Track to kick off 2018.

After the rain and storms, we had an army of members mowing, repairing and improving the track so we can race again in 2018. We now have a magnetic strip back in place across the start finish line. Large sections of edges have been filled with dirt, to help those who like driving wider than recommended! Our scales have been adjusted and will have ramps added to roll on, roll off.

At one stage, we had 3x ride-ons, 2x push mowers, and 1x whipper snipper tackling the LONG LONG grass. It was hot out there so massive effort and thanks to everyone, especially those who started at 6am.

We then held our 2018 planning meeting and made the decisions which will determine how and when we race in 2018. The full details will be published later this week, and be made available to all.

The discussions were open and robust, and everyone had a chance to share their opinion, before decisions were made. Naturally, we will always put safety first and the first race meet of the year will be NON-Championship to test out our new format to see how the new system will run.

Committee meeting & working bee

Happy new year and welcome to 2018 @ Dalby Kart Club. We are yet to plan and finalize the 2018 race calendar, as well as set a new race format or any other changes. No decisions have been made yet and this meeting will be the forum to voice your opinion, vote on changes and make final decisions for the running of the 2018 Dalby Kart Club Championship.

This is your chance to contribute your ideas, before decisions are made for 2018. The only way to make your opinion formal, is to show up and voice it. No show means no input! (You may also join the meeting via telephone, if needed)

In addition, we request all members to help get the track back to a tidy standard, after rain and holidays and storms. We will also add back the magnetic strip, and make general repairs/preparations for the coming race year.

8.30am to 1pm - WORKING BEE. ALL MEMBERS REQUESTED TO COME AND HELP.

1pm to 2pm. BYO lunch. BBQ and fridges available for use.

2pm - COMMITTEE MEETING START

Greetings All

Just a quick note to remind everyone the track is open all holidays for practice to members.

Please obey all safety rules as written on the pit gate for your own safety. Please replace all tyres to correct position when you run out of driving talent.....!

Also, I recently witnessed a go kart catch fire at another track so please think ahead and have a fire extinguisher in your trailer when practicing.

Visitors welcome but must be with a paid member. First timers should contact a committee member if they would like to try and see.

If you're looking for go kart parts and service try RedHeadAuto, Wayne Bradley or Thompson Racing.

If you need a gate key PIN please contact Tim.

What a great night had by all for our Christmas end of year party

We even had some cool reindeer racing last night
And a big shout out to price right cars for kindly donating the jumping castle for the kids it was a big hit
And a big thank you shout out to Mr Bradley who shows up every race meeting and does the a tremendous job on flags and the start and finish.

Great turn out for our last race meeting of the year. Some very good close, clean racing though out all classes. Thanks to all that have supported and helped out the club though out the year. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Hope to see you all next year.
