Dalby Vintage Kart Race Meet 2018

Race Day Preparations

Thanks to all those who put in a huge effort today (and yesterday) to prepare our track for our visitors this Saturday. We accomplished the following:

1. Additioanal flood light in pit area
2. Replaced non-functional track light with new flood light.
3. Lopped tree branches a many
4. Mowed the green green grass
5. Slashed the pack/side paddock for additional parking.
6. Additional CCTV cameras installed in tower.
7. Marked out pit bays
8. Other general repair/maintenance work

Massive thanks to the following people who turned up, put the effort in and made the facility as good as it can be. All club members benefit from the hard work of a few:

To help us prepare for upcoming race meet this Saturday, please consider helping out this THURSDAY from 9am (till finished). We are allowing the sunshine to dry things out for a few days, but need all hands on deck THURSDAY.

Massive thanks to Chris and Tony Gilbert @ AUSTMECH who rebuilt our mower deck in time for the burst of green grass.

Queensland Vintage & Historic Karting Inc

Greetings Kart Club members!

Upcoming race meet this Saturday, with the QLD Vintage Karts. Here is the basic information, and more to follow this week as we get closer.

We will open additional PARKING in the back paddock (subject to no further rains!!) We'll post a picture when we get it sorted.

We will mark 3m x 3m pit bays for this event. 1x kart = 1x bay. The QLD Vintage Karts will have a reserved area marked. We are expecting 15~20 additional karts for this race meet, so come early and claim a spot!

4DDD Radio will broadcast LIVE from Dalby Kart Track for the event.

Friday: from 2pm, track open for Friday practice, under lights until 10pm. Fee $10 per kart (to cover cost of lights).

Camping available: $10 if plugging into power, otherwise free. Hot shower available (limited hot water, but plenty of cold water!)

Saturday:

Gates open from 8am. Practice from 9am to 2.45pm. All practice counts as qualifying and forms the grid for 1st race, as usual.

3.00pm drivers briefing, then racing until 10pm.

We will cycle thru races at a faster than usual pace. There will be a very short dinner break, instead of the usual 30 mins. Canteen will be open with plenty of stock.

Please obey all club rules, and take extra care moving around with vehicles/trailers/etc.

Juniors Race 2

Our JUNIORS @Dalby Kart Club always exhibit exceptionally clean and competitive racing.

However, every class gets a turn at some carnage. Check out this video from our trackside cameras.

Despite the pile up, all karts got back on track for the next race after some urgent repairs.

Our juniors showed great sportmanship to each other, and continued without fuss....a great exampe to the rest of us.
