Sweeper Upgrade (Turn 1) Day 3 Progress

Today we found a water pipe deep under the track, with evidence of leaking! The source of some of the wetness has now been removed but time is needed to dry out the sub soil as much as possible. We will add lime and a geo fabric to stabilize the ground before the road base (road profilings) are added and rolled in to form a stable sub grade.

Tomorrow, we are expecting a free delivery from FKG......stay tuned for tomorrow's video.....

Sweeper Upgrade (Turn 1) Day 2 Progress

The earthworks continued today, with all concrete removed and excavation into the sub-soil. We found VERY SOFT ground underneath (as expected, but perhaps worse!)

Our schedule will be pushed back at least two days to allow us to stabilize the ground as much as possible.....! Please stay tuned and we will post on FB when members are required to assist.

Day 1 Sweeper Upgrade

Good start today ripping up Turn 1 (Sweeper). See John Karlish and the Team in action, ripping up and breaking concrete.

Continues Monday....

TRACK CLOSED.

The key has been removed from the key box to ensure no access during upgrade works.

Greetings, we now have a confirmed schedule for major track upgrade works, massive thanks to John Karlish Earthmoving.

TRACK WILL BE CLOSED EFFECTIVE TOMORROW 1st JUNE 2018 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Schedule as follows (plan):

1st June: Marking out and laser levelling
2nd - 5th June: Remove concrete sections and prepare subgrade. John Karlish Earthmoving

Thursday 7th - Friday 8th June: Boxing up, laying mesh and preparation for concrete.(CLUB MEMBER ASSISTANCE REQUIRED!!!) Matt Hughes builder.

Monday 11th June: Pour concrete. (CLUB MEMBER ASSISTANCE REQUIRED!!!) Wild River Concrete and Matt Hughes.

Wednesday 13th June: Remove boxing and cleanup. Backfill concrete edges. (CLUB MEMBERs!!)

We will replace the 70m section around the 1st corner (sweeper).

Please also note a few odd lap times (eg: 24.681s, 27.509). This occurs when the timing system misses the tags on one lap, and a manual lap is inserted in the database to ensure the correct finishing position is recorded.

Racing this SUNDAY 27th May (Change to Day Race). Track open all day Saturday for practice (no night practice...too cold!!)

On Sunday Race Day:
Qualy: 9am to 10:50am
Driver's Briefing: 11am
Racing: after driver's briefing, until finished.

At the end of racing, there will be a podium presentation and all drivers receive a prize.

We will spend some extra time at Driver's Briefing this round to talk about driver rules and conduct on the track. All drivers must be present at Driver's Briefing.

All drivers must be paid up with sticker displayed before Sunday qualifying.

Please also review our Dalby Kart Track Rules (see image).

Congratulations to Josh Betts RedHead Auto 1st place Tag125 Restricted Heavy winner in Toowoomba today and leading the championship in Twmba. It's not an easy task to win this class in Toowoomba so a well earned 1st!
